The next story I would recommend is The Yellow Wallpaper, written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, and let me tell all of you something: this piece will send shivers down your spine. The entire story is incredibly creepy, dark, with lots of twists and turns, and is somewhat confusing. Each section or paragraph of her writing is like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle that connect as the story progresses, becoming more intense and fitting together to reveal the whole ‘image’. One of the main highlights of this piece is the excruciating number of visionary ways the author describes the wallpaper from the narrator's perspective, and by the end, you will discover that the innocent yellow wallpaper is much more than it appears. I also will admit that I thought this was a straightforward story - it is not. Given I found the ending to be albeit weird, I decided to look up a simple summary and ended up going through an entire rabbit-hole of researching more summaries, analyses and videos to understand the mind of Gilman and how her personal life affected the story, and I have to say it only made the story even more gripping and dramatic.
